| The French language has been spoken in the Cane River Valley for nearly 300 years but is now on the verge of disappearing. This site seeks to enhance understanding of this endangered part of the Cane River Valley’s unique cultural heritage through videotaped interviews with native speakers and supporting materials that include a brief historical overview of French in the area and a description of the current linguistic situation. |
